Responsibilities

The Insurance Defense Attorney will handle a variety of litigation matters and may be responsible for:

• Assisting with the management of insurance defense cases from inception through resolution
• Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other legal documents
• Taking and defending depositions
• Participating in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Communicating with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and other parties
• Developing litigation strategies and evaluating claims
• Preparing cases for trial
• Handling discovery and written discovery responses
• Appearing in state and federal courts as appropriate
• Managing an active caseload while meeting deadlines and client expectations

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2 to 5+ years of experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or a related litigation practice
• Admission to the Louisiana Bar in good standing
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience managing litigation matters and working independently
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• A strong attention to detail
• The ability to effectively manage multiple cases and deadlines
• A professional, client-focused approach

Preferred Experience
