FLEX Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a Casualty Defense Attorney New Orleans on behalf of a respected litigation firm. This opportunity is tailored for attorneys with 2–6+ years of litigation defense experience eager to gain meaningful defense experience, working at a prestigious litigation firm in New Orleans. This position is ideal for those looking to advance their career in a dynamic collaborative work environment.
The practice is a small to medium-sized, close-knit firm where the attorneys have grown together professionally over the years. This collegial environment fosters mentorship, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence in litigation. As an associate, you won’t be lost in the shuffle; instead, you’ll play an integral role in cases, working directly with partners and clients from the outset.
Draft and respond to discovery requests, manage document productions, and handle discovery disputes.
Prepare and learn to take and defend depositions, including those of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses.
Prepare witnesses for trial testimony, ensuring they are confident and persuasive on the stand.
Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions, evidentiary challenges, and trial-related motions.
Assist with every aspect of trial preparation, including:
Developing outlines for direct and cross-examination.
Drafting proposed jury instructions and voir dire questions.
Preparing opening and closing statements.
Creating demonstrative exhibits and persuasive trial materials.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Louisiana (or eligible for admission). See Louisiana State Bar criteria for eligibility.
2–6+ years of insurance defense or general litigation defense experience.
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Experience handling discovery, motion practice, and case management.
Interest in trial work and a desire to learn courtroom advocacy skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented, close-knit environment.
